‘Crime against food’: Met Gala menu leaves netizens unimpressed, Priyanka Chopra says there wasn’t any bread - The Indian Express

Despite its stellar fashion moments and opulence, the food at the Met Gala dinner has a bad rep for being unimpressive. This year, the menu was based on legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld’s food preferences and aimed to replicate the feeling of “dinner at his home”.

As per Vogue, the menu included “chilled spring pea soup with baby vegetables, lemon crème fraîche, and truffle snow, followed by Ōra King salmon with vegetable nage, asparagus, pickled strawberries, and radish”. These dishes were served to the esteemed guests in vintage china. For drinks, one could pick from wine selection or Diet Coke.

However, this carefully crafted menu has failed to impress the netizens who noted that the food looked “appetite suppressant”.

American rapper Pusha T revealed in his Instagram story that singer Teyana Taylor snuck Chick-Fil-A for dinner instead of dining on the in-house options. Priyanka Chopra revealed there was no bread on the menu.

A Twitter user shared pictures from a Vogue article about the Met Gala menu and wrote, “sweet raptor jesus, this is the menu for #MetGala tonight. celebrities are starving themsleves to death and paying out the nose for the privilege. What is this crime against food???”.

This is not the first time that celebrities have spoken badly about the Met Gala dinner. In 2021, actor Keke Palmer shared a picture from the gala dinner and poked fun at it by writing, “This why they don’t show y’all the food. I’m just playinnnn.”
