PETALING JAYA: More than 15,000 restaurants and food operators nationwide have joined the Menu Rahmah programme which offers meals at RM5 for the hardcore poor. Domestic trade and cost of living minister Salahuddin Ayub said various meals, such as chicken rice, rojak, nasi paprik, roti john and fried kuey teow will be offered at RM5. “We suggest (to set the price at) RM5. It’s the most reasonable price after factoring in (the prices of) raw materials. “I know the sellers have made sacrifices over the price. I want to thank all of them (for it),” Salahuddin said at a press conference at Mydin Subang Jaya.
